Counselling for Work Issues

Stress can hit anyone at any level of the business and recent research shows that work related stress is widespread and is not confined to particular sectors, jobs or industries  – www.hse.gov.uk/stress

So much of our time is spent at work or thinking about work.  In today’s world, it can often feel as if  there is too much work to do and  less time to do it.  Change seems to be the only constant and the workplace can sometimes feel like a battlefield.  Examples of work place issues can be:

  • Work Overload
  • Difficulties with managers or colleagues
  • Career choice
  • Off sick and worried about returning to work
  • Working with people with challenging behaviours
  • Front line workers Exposure to constant trauma

Work-related stress and anxiety symptoms can manifest in a manner of ways and soon you may start to feel very unwell, both emotionally and physically.

Problems at work can be all-consuming.  Seeping into our home life, issues can become our only topic of conversation, affecting our most valued personal relationships.  We can lose our sense of perspective and work-life balance.  We can suffer from restless sleep, poor appetite, low energy, lack of concentration, inability to make decisions and an overall lack of motivation.

If any of this sounds familiar to you, then engaging in short-term focused counselling might be what you need. I have over 25 years experience, supporting and counselling people from all areas of life and every type of industry.

Well-designed, organised and managed work is good for us but when insufficient attention to job design, work organisation and management has taken place, it can result in Work related stress. Work related stress develops because a person is unable to cope with the demands being placed on them – www.hse.gov.uk/stress
